I grew Up listening to my dad tell the same stories over & over again.

The best ones were about the bad guys. Backstabbing, betrayal, crucifixion, apocalypse; The Bible had it all. Every Sunday, I’d sit on a red velvet cushion, awash in the filtered light of stained glass, and imagine the good book’s unholiest passages come to life.

The allegories scratched a dark itch in me, but nothing lasts forever. So, I started exploring unholy passages of my own.

Son of a Preacher is a reminder that there is no light without darkness; that sometimes bad deeds lead to happy endings. I create fine, natural home fragrances for a shame-free existence.

My name is Christopher Trout. I am the Son of a Preacher. I started making incense in 2020, when we were all spending a lot more time at home. Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to making life smell a little bit sweeter through the ancient art of natural perfumery. In my free time, I’m an award-winning writer, editor, designer, and creative director, among other expletives.
