How long will my order take to ship?
SOAP incense is perfumed in California the day of purchase. Orders may take up to one week to ship. Scarves and bandanas are printed on demand and shipped from Art of Where in Canada. They can take up to three weeks to arrive.
What is your shipping policy?
We currently ship to the United States only. For international inquiries contact christopher@soapperfumery.com. SOAP is not responsible for lost or stolen packages.
Why should I buy natural incense?
There’s nothing wrong with synthetic fragrances. In fact, most modern perfumes are made primarily of lab-grown aromas. That said, incense is an art steeped in the natural world. I make my incense from all natural ingredients to honor tradition but also to preserve the dying art of natural perfumery. Regulation and overharvesting, among other factors, have chipped away at the natural perfumers’ palate, but there’s still something magnificent about composing a unique, Earth-born scent that no lab can replicate.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. All products and shipping costs are non-refundable. In the case that your incense order arrives damaged, contact us directly at christopher@soapperfumery.com with an image of the product and your order number so that we can initiate a potential return. Questions about returns and exchanges applying to scarves and bandanas should be directed to the manufacturer, Art of Where at info@artofwhere.com. All reports of damaged goods must be made within 14 days to qualify for a return or exchange.
What is sculptural incense &
how do I burn it?
Sculptural incense is exactly what it sounds like: Incense that’s been sculpted into a shape other than your typical stick or cone. To burn, light the tip of your incense. Once glowing orange, extinguish the flame and lay on a bed of white ash. The ash allows the piece to burn completely and maintain its original shape and texture, leaving you with a gorgeous scent and a little piece of ephemeral art.
How do I care for my silk scarf or bandana?
Hand wash and hang dry or machine wash on delicate with a cup of vinegar and mild detergent. Wash alone the first two times to avoid bleeding. Can be dry cleaned. Iron on lowest heat setting and use a damp cloth as a barrier between the scarf and iron to avoid burning.

Isn’t all incense natural?
You might think your go-to sticks / cones are au naturel, but there’s a good chance you’re burning dirty. Natural oils, resins, woods, and isolates tend to be quite rare and expensive, which is why most mass-produced incense makers lean on synthetic ingredients. Your go-to nag champa or designer one-off, might be a mix of natural and synthetic fragrances, but very few big brands are dedicated to 100% material purity.
